Shiatsu is a traditional form of ancient Japanese bodywork, which has its roots in acupuncture. The word itself means "finger pressure". Shiatsu is sometimes referred to as
acupuncture without the needles.
The Body's "Chi" or life force flows along energy pathways called meridians. These meridians are associated with our internal organs and our emotional, mental and spiritual states.
Your shiatsu treatment is performed on a low massage table. you remain fully clothed throughout the
session. We suggest you wear loose comfortable clothing for your comfort.
Your therapist will use rhythmically applied palm and finger pressure and gentle stretching along the meridians to stimulate the flow of Chi. The quality of pressure is firm direct and precise.
You can expect to feel at once relaxed and invigorated. Your mind will be clear. Your range of motion will improve. Your pain will diminish.
Shiatsu is effective in treating a wide variety of ailments from anxiety and depression to menopausal and reproductive issues, gastrointestinal complaints, respiratory problems and of course headaches and musculoskeletal pain.
Regular shiatsu treatment can improve the quality and balance of Chi, allowing your body, mind and spirit to maintain a natural healthy state.
